From July to September 2019, I completed an internship with the UMCG E-Learning Development team. As a UI & UX Designer, my main task was to redesign the website for Versatest, an e-learning tool. During this process, I created a user flowchart, wireframes, and later the first mockups. After further analysis and short testing sessions—and in close collaboration with my teammates—I also developed an interactive prototype.
PRODUCT
Versatest is an e-learning tool used by medical students and lecturers at UMCG (University Medical Center Groningen). Its main goal is to provide students with quick and convenient access to all learning materials in one place.
DESIGN GOALS
UX and design direction for the rebranding of the UMCG’s Versatest e-learning tool, focusing on a clean layout and fast navigation to ensure that content is easily accessible for hundreds of medical students and lecturers.
VISUAL TREATMENT
Once we finalized the user flow, I researched existing e-learning tools to understand current design trends. This ensured that our redesign aligned with modern UI conventions and best practices.
OUTCOME
The response we got from teachers and students was that it was much easier and more intuitive to look for lecture material and courses in redesigned experience. Overall users felt much more confident in using Versatest.
